Can at Brian’s surprise tasting. Pours clear gold with white head. Nose and taste of resin, orange zest, caramel malt and light pine. A bit dank on the nose. Medium body.

Can at McNellie’s Pours a hazy pale yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a strong wet/musty wheat note with a bit of underlying light fruit. Flavor has same strong wet and musty wheat note with a touch of banana and light fruits.

16oz can - pre-release sample (should be in the stores in a week). Pours a pale golden color, small but tight head. Aroma is weird - a plastic-y, maybe phenolic-y aroma. I don’t get plums but I think it may be the plums doing it. Behind some Belgian malts and light esters off the yeast. Flavor is better, less of that off character and a generally doughy Belgian yeast beer. Not heavy, esters wrangled in nicely. May need some work.

Pour is a murky orange with a large white head. Aroma is a citrusy/pine hop. Flavor is ditto. Big hoppyness without much bitterness. Finish leaves a little fruit on the palate. In a word I would describe this beer as dank.

Can, via the locals4locals BIF - thanks soonerchamps! Pours a very dark brown color, topped with a thick brown head that subsides in under a minute. Aroma is heavy roast and light cocoa. Sweet and inviting. After not picking up any vanilla in the nose, the pleasant vanilla flavor sort of surprised me. Vanilla up front, light bittersweet cocoa, and more roast. Roasty, yet sweet and silky. Just a little bit sweeter overall than the base beer and certainly not overwhelmingly sweet. I love trying familiar stouts with vanilla, so this was right up my alley.

16oz can. Unfiltered glowing orange body. Big, steady, foamy off-white/beige head. Big citrus notes. Orange, tangerine, grapefruit. Lots of hop depth. Toasty graham cracker malty background, a little thick for 2013. Fresh and zesty, better than the average IPA for sure. Enjoyable.

Can - thanks RobertDale. Pours slightly hazy yellow gold with a large white creamy head and nice lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine and a touch of caramel. Flavor is the same with some zesty notes. Just a bit of sweetness and light bitterness. Medium body, bubbly

Firkin hand pump at Maduro. Unfiltered orange-tan. Big steady white head. Crisp, cool wheat aroma, hard to decipher with the cigar smoke. There is some raspberry in there ( now confirmed). Pretty much all you can ask for in a US wheat, Very nice off the hand pump.

Can from RobertDale - thanks! Pours slightly hazy orange, large orange-white creamy head, good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is citrus, passionfruit, touch of cat piss. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet, light bitter increasing to medium on the finish, but remaining smooth. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Nice effort!
