Description

Served on draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy gold color with a large head. Good head retention and excellent lacing. Aroma is caramel, bread, light fruits and earthy, spicy hops. Taste is bread, butterscotch, banana and pear. The hops are earthy in the beginning and a lingering bitterness grows towards the end. Full bodied. This one really hit the spot for me.

75 cl bottle. Deep gold with a tall, frothy, funkily-shaped head. Herbal, hoppy aroma, a bit spicy, with lemon. Sweetish flavor with honey, lots of lemon, herbs, grassy hops, and a nice, crisp, bitter finish. A very nice saison in the style I am used to (a la Dupont), though bigger and stronger. Great balance and lots of flavor.

Cloudy orange with a big and lasting white head. Aroma has grainy malt, herbal hops and spice, especially some peppery notes I guess could be grains of paradise. Dry, fruity and hoppy flavour and quite bitter. Very elegant and drinkable beer.

2005 bottle. Pours hazy golden color with white head. Aromas of applesauce and peaches. Kind of strange, unexpected. Moderately sweet with apple, pear and peach flavors with a fair amount of spices. Medium body with lively carbonation.

Bottle, 75cl, shared by Papsoe. A gusher, producing an unclear, golden body and a diminishing, off-white head leaving lacings. Sweet, slightly spiced nose with some alcohol and notes of sourness. Sweet, nicely spiced and bitter flavor with fruityness. Dry, warm and effervescent. Pleasant finish with sweetness, spices and bitterness. A nice beer, pity it seems to be a bit off. (090514)
