Bottle. Deep red/brown body with a disappearing beige head. Vague malty, caramel and spicy aroma. Smooth malty, caramel and spicy flavor. Rather well balanced and easy drinkable, but could still have some more sting.

Minimal herber Antrunk, dann verstärkt malzig und getreidig. Der milde Geschmack setzt sich auch im Mittelteil fort, dazu kommt eine dezente Süße, die etwas trocken wirkt. Herb-getreidiger, dennoch milder Abgang. Test vom 11.6.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,11,12,11,10,11 - 11,10

(bottle) Black coloured hue with a short tanned foamy head. Moderately sweet and roasted malty aroma with caramel, chocolate and liquorice. Bitter flavour, medium to light bodied, smooth carbonated mouthfeel. Roast-malty taste with caramel, hoppy background; dry and lasting roasty bitter finish with liquorice and burnt elements. Slim but tasty and rounded Schwarzbier. Well done.

(bottle) Clear golden colour with a short foamy white head. Moderately sweet malty and herbal hoppy aroma with a touch of honey. Medium dry and soft malty taste, light to medium body, crispy carbonation; dry-ish, slightly hop-bitter finish. Clean and drinkable, but all in all a rather bland Bohemian Pilsener.

(bottle) Clear golden colour with a short frothy white head. Dusty and slightly sweet malty aroma with traces of hops. Medium sweet malty flavour and taste, slightly papery and fruity (honey); light to medium body, crispy carbonated mouthfeel. Slim and very light-bitter, low-hopped finish with a tinge of metal. Rather disappointing but certainly drinkable.

(bottle) Clear and dark reddish amber colour with a short off-white foam. Slightly sweet toastmalty nutty aroma with hints of toffee and hops. Sweetbitter flavour, rather light bodied, crispy mouthfeel. Toastmalty taste with caramel, shy fruity/nutty notes, dry light-bitter finish. Slim but enjoyable.

(bottle) Clear, reddish amber colour with a short frothy, slightly off-white head. Moderately sweet toasted malty, nutty and slightly woody aroma with herbal hops. (bottle) Clear golden colour with a short foamy white head. Sweet lemon, orange rind aroma with ginger ale. Sweet and spicy flavour, light bodied, lively carbonated. Lemon and honey-fruity and ginger-spicy taste; medium dry honeyish, spicy finish with a lot of ginger in the aftertaste. Interesting and worth a try, but definitely not my favourite style of beer.

Bottled. Clear golden, no head. Orangey lemonade aroma. Despite it’s gravity it simply tastes of marmelady lemonade, seville orange/Old English style. Too sweet, medium bodied, no bitterness. I find the whole concept of full strength Radler pretty revolting. A Radler is a beer substitute for drivers, while this is a bleeding alco-pop in disguise. I’m disgusted!

Draught at The Craypot, Kaikoura. Clear golden, small head. Fruity and fairly sweet. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. There’s some grassy hops, but the rate appears very low. More pleasant malt flavours instead. Low bitterness. A fairly well made, Dortmunder-like lager on the malty side.
