Cask at Pig's Ear '17,day one, 05/12/17. Rich mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is sweet malts, vanilla, cocoa, marshmallow gloop. Taste comprises chocolate, toffee, Wagon Wheels, biscuit crumbs, mellow roast. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Tidy stout that does what it says on the tin.

[ As Elephant School Mango Unchained ].
ABV: 7.2%. Clear medium yellow orange colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, moderate hoppy, fruity hops, mango, butterscotch notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average to long duration, mango, fruity hops, hop bitter, pale malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20171015]

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cask. Clear paleish gold beer, small white head. Palate is smooth, fairly low carbonation. Light malts, nice light floral tang. Trace of citrus. A little German style nuttyness here. Light finish. A brave attempt and the flavour is good, the lack of carbonation is a torpedo below the waterline.
Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cask. Clear paleish gold beer, small white head. Palate is smooth, fairly low carbonation. Light malts, nice light floral tang. Trace of citrus. Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cask. Light haze on this gold beer, small bubbly white head. Palate is light and fairly dry, good superfine carbonation. Nice condition. Light malts. Good fruity hops. Mild citrus and good mango. Hop spice mid with a touch of orange coming through. Smooth sweet and spicy finish. Slipped down very easy indeed, real good drinkability.

[ As Elephant School Donald Trunk ].Clear medium yellow orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, fruity malt, earthy fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, pale malt, earthy fruit. Gravity cask at the 2017 Cambridge Beer Festival. Orange-gold, murky and flat. Caramel and toffee aroma. Sweet toffee taste with a hint of citrus peel. Slick, flat, oily body. It’s okay, and I like the use of oats, but it is incredibly one-dimensional, and is no more a Dubbel than a penguin.
