Description
Established in 2014 as a side brand of Brentwood Brewing to cater for the ‘craft’ market.

Elephant School Brewing is named after the Elephant School that was in the base for the army barracks, which was a depot for the Essex Regiment. The school was run by the British East India Trading Company and they trained people to ride Elephants before going out to India. The beers are not along the traditional lines of its parent and so you can expect to see some rather different samples of beers being born.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Hazy deep amber beer, small pale cream coloured head. Light dry palate. Tangy malt (Brentwoods Sophie said this was German red malts). Good marmalade and dried fruit hops. Finishes semi dry. Nice tangy beer.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Light haze on this paleish gold beer. Little white head. Light dry palate with fine carbonation. Light floralness and mellow lime. Whisper of strawberry. Dry finish. Pretty tasty.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Opaque dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry. Rich dark malts. Light lactose. Licorice bitterness. Tangy dark fruits. Dry finish, some aniseed alcohol spice. Mild bitter linger. Could taste no chocolate or mint. It’s a tasty beer but the drinkability factor is low. A third was enough.
