Pigs Ear. Pretty much opaque dark brown beer. Small bubbly tan head. Palate is light and dry. Smooth dark malts, a very light touch. There is a little cake cocoa sweetness and dry cream. Mild dark fruits. Light dry finish. Not bad.

Pigs Ear. Clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is smooth with light fine carbonation. Smooth malt, semi sweet. Good hops - marmalade and citrus. Little hop spice. Light semi dry finish. Light bitter floralness. Light semi dry finish. Good bitter linger. Comes over as a well hopped Golden ale.

Dry finish. Fine but what was so radical about this that is warranted being under the Elephant School bannef of Brentwood?

Cask @ Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Some tropics, citrus and slight grapefruit but a bit too thin and watery for me.

- very dark brown color. Creamy light brown head. Strong roasted malt and dark fruit nose. The mouth is more dark fruit character slightly astringent and mildly acidic mouth feel. Full bodied. Decent, but not great depth

Cask gravity at Firkin Ale House Folkestone. Clear gold no real head. Not really my thing. It’s fine just a fairly standard golden ale. Got better as it went down.

Cask at Tap East - Stratford, London. Pours clear, dark reddish-brown with a tight, creamy flesh head. Ripened dark fruits in the nose, rich berries, dark sugars. Medium sweet flavor with rich, dark bread, lots of ripe, semi-dark fruits, mild chocolate. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Modest warmth to finish, further dark fruits, rich bread, toasted brown sugar, hints of molasses, lightly tangy berries. A bit of charred wood bitterness. Nice overall. Quite drinkable given the strength.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Hazy deep amber beer, small pale cream coloured head. Light dry palate. Tangy malt (Brentwoods Sophie said this was German red malts). Good marmalade and dried fruit hops. Finishes semi dry. Nice tangy beer.

Dry finish, some aniseed alcohol spice. Mild bitter linger. Could taste no chocolate or mint. It’s a tasty beer but the drinkability factor is low. A third was enough.
