Description
Established in 2014 as a side brand of Brentwood Brewing to cater for the ‘craft’ market.

Elephant School Brewing is named after the Elephant School that was in the base for the army barracks, which was a depot for the Essex Regiment. The school was run by the British East India Trading Company and they trained people to ride Elephants before going out to India. The beers are not along the traditional lines of its parent and so you can expect to see some rather different samples of beers being born.

Cask gravity at PE 2016. It pours deep copper with a medium off-white head. The aroma is rich, festive spice, dried fruits, berry and wood. The taste is very dry, spicy, herbal, quite astringent, leather, wood, chewy malt and dried fruit with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit too bitter and dry. Okay.

Hand-pulled half-pint (as Brentwood White Elephant) on 30th Sep 2016 at The Crown Inn Oakengates. Golden pour, full white head. No coriander could be found in my beer, just a pleasant, slightly hoppy blend that was both thirst quenching and easy to drink. Nice.
