Description
Ridgeway Brewing was established in 2002 by master brewer Peter Scholey (former head brewer at Brakspear) and his wife Vanda. The name comes from the ancient trade route that winds its way through English countryside between small towns. It has been around for thousands of years, adapting with the changing times, The reason why we chose the name Ridgeway, apart from living on it, was that we hope to create lasting experiences, believe in the long term and love the outdoors.

500ml bottle as part of a delivery from Beers of Europe and drunk at home. It's damnm near black, with a small beige/khaki head. Malty aroma, a fair hit of liquorice and a little bit of roasted almond. Bittersweet taste, more liquorice, some molasses, horehound. Quite medicinal in the finish. Thin body, carbonation minimal. I want to like this more than I do. It's half a step up from just okay.

Panda at home, thanks to Graham / Grumbo, 30/01/23. Pretty sure I must have had this many years back ... in the ticked but never rated box! Copper to amber pour with a just off white cap. Nose is stewed fruits, toffee, grains, herb, biscuit. Taste comprises fruit cake mix, toffee, herb, straw, toasted grains, dates. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok old skool English strong ... earthy and bitter with a fruity backbone.
