Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Appearance - amber with a genrous off-white head. Nose - caramel and a bit cakey. Taste - more cake, burnt biscuit, orange shred. Palate - light to medium bodied, sweet but crunchy texture and finish. Overall - decent.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Appearance - dark brown to black and opaque. Light fawn head. Nose - interesting sweet and savoury thing going on. Getting olive and tapenade, but at the same time, some Jamaica cake, with wood spice and caramel, particularly. Taste - more of the sweet and savoury. As well as olives and cake, now getting salted caramel too. Palate - medium bodied plus with sweet/savoury middle and long linger. Overall - great stuff.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. 2017 Vintage. No 2898. Appearance - deep amber, off white head. Nose - booze, raisins, jam-making and wood. Taste - stewed rhubarb, wood, booze. Rum & raisin. Palate - medium to full bodied, boozy/woody finish. Overall - good.

(Bottle) Pours hazy amber brown with tiny loose white head. Pleasant aroma of toffee with honey notes. Full bodied, slightly sticky with fine carbonation. The taste is unusual, complex and interesting, if perhaps a bit discordant. There’s pleasant toffee and honey sweetness up front. There’s some significant hoppy bitterness in the finish. For me, while both are great in their own right, they don’t quite work together; however they also compelled me to taste again. There’s some vinous notes, maybe white port. The booze is well hidden. Very interesting and enjoyable, if a little discordant.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Appearance - golden amber, slightly off white head. Nose - green grapes, apples, kiwi, that sort of thing. Taste - malt dominant, a bit chewy and the green fruits that were on the nose, are quite suppressed now. Palate - chewy and medium bodied. Dry, edge of astringent bitterness. Overall - a bit challenging.

50cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours practically black, with fine cream foam. Aroma is delicate of coffee. Body is just above average, with medium carbonation. Taste is fairly bitter from roastiness, with a weird, almost unpleasant, finish.

Bottle 2012 Vintage, at home, Lock-in bottle focus, 28th March 2020. Pours black and slightly thin. Aroma is liquorice, dark malts. Taste is smooth as silk, little to no carbonation, sweet and bitter, kind of tastes like an antique, not bad, nothing to blow the mind.
