We arrived at this pursuit in a unique way as well. The brewers of Jack’s Abby had been cultivating killer craft lagers for years before we launched, but found themselves wanting to push the limits of beer far beyond their core, traditional lagers. That left them with only one choice – start a whole new brand. That curiosity and willingness to take risks is what launched Springdale. The quality and expertise in this brewery is what drives Springdale.

--Keg at Man in The Moon, Stockholm. -- Very dark brown, small head. Rich aroma of coffee, some caramel. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, hard mouthfeel. Caramel and chocolatey coffee. Low bitterness. Nice flavours, but the malt character is sharp and basic.

Semi-clear golden color with small short-lived head, medium body with strong carbonation. Aroma of tart apricot, funk and oak. Very dry sour taste of apricot, yeast, and oak, with lingering funk at the end. Enjoyable.

Draught at Jack's Abby, 1/9/22. Lightly hazy, soft, lime-tinted hay-golden with a small, white head showing low retention. Easygoing lime and mango in the nose with a bit of bubblegum and a mix of both honey and cracker-like malts all come together to provide a good balance, with no weird/off notes, booze or twang. Enigma hops here add varied fruitiness, almost cherry-lime and are soft and ebullient. Not an incredible strength of aroma, by any means, but what's there is pleasant. Soft and lightly juicy, with plentiful bubble gum-like ester, though falling short of being dominant/problematic. Instead, cherry, lime, mango pick up and provide a juicy complexity with light, but mostly ample bitterness throughout. Soft, well-attenuated malts are lightly sweet, mostly cracker/biscuity. No booze or flaw. Easygoing and very drinkable, getting more complex and fruity with warming. Not going to mistake this one for, say, Trillium or Tree House, but it's well-done nonetheless and enjoyable, if perhaps a bit light for its abv strength.

On tap at Tavern on the Lake in Hightstown, NJ. Opaque black pour. Creamy tan head is minimal. Aroma of roasted malt, oak and bourbon. Not much maple on nose. First sip is oakey with boozy, whiskeyish notes. A hint of maple syrup comes through in middle. Soft, creamy mouthfeel. Very drinkable and perhaps a good substitute for your coffee at Sunday morning breakfast. Very tasty.
