12oz bottle. Pours deep rich mahogany, pretty clear with a small tan head that dissipates to a ring with nice lacing. Aroma is really delicate with coconut, vanilla and bourbon all present, with some cocoa. Flavor is fairly sweet, medium bitter, holy coconut batman. LOADS of the white stuff in this one, bourbon provides a really nice accent but not over the top. Vanilla compliments the coconut with a bit of roast poking through at well. There is some heat, but given the ABV, it does not seem bad at all. Some oaky astringency on the finish is perhaps the only real detractor from this tasty beer. Medium body with a soft mouthfeel. Yep, the hype is real. Who the hell is Perrin?

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours crystal clear deep reddish brown color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, toasted oats, brown bread, chocolate, light nuttiness, light bourbon/oak, and toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malts and moderate bourbon barrel notes; with good strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, toasted oats, brown bread, chocolate, light nuttiness, light bourbon/oak, and toasted earthiness. Light herbal hop bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, toasted oats, brown bread, chocolate, light nuttiness, and oak/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and moderate bourbon barrel flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome barrel aged brown ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and moderate bourbon barrel flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. I really liked how this one had lower overall bourbon/oak presence; but still had pronounced vanilla/toffee notes from the barrel aging, which made this very smooth and drinkable since it lacked the booziness a barrel usually imparts. A highly enjoyable offering.

On tap. Pours a bright but hazy golden orange with a white head. Minimal citrus aroma. Flavor is pretty much overwhelmed by the grapefruit. No real hop complexity to complement it, sadly.
