Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, light smoke, herbal, grass, light dark fruit, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malt, earthy hops, and light fruity yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, light smoke, herbal, grass, light dark fruit, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, light smoke, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, earthy hops, and light fruity yeast flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Fair amount of dryness as well. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth and lightly creamy/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice dry stout style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, earthy hops, and light fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Aromas of raisin, plum, fig, pear, apricot, apple, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, light pepper/clove, and yeast/oak earthiness. Nice aromas with good complexity and solid balance of fruity/earthy yeast, dark malt, and bourbon barrel notes; with good strength. A bit too fruity/boozy in the nose. Taste of big raisin, plum, fig, pear, apricot, apple, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, light coconut, light pepper/clove, and yeast/oak earthiness. Fair amount of bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, apricot, apple, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, light pepper/clove, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, dark malt, and bourbon barrel flavors; with a great malt/oak spiciness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light amount of dryness present after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth and lightly slick/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with light-moderate warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very good barrel aged English barleywine style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, dark malt, and bourbon barrel flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the huge ABV. With a bit more body and darker malt complexity this would have been better, but was still a nicely enjoyable offering overall.
