On tap at MBGSF 2014. Pours a deep brown with an off-white head. Malted milk and red grape aromas. Flavors of toffee and molasses, malted milk ball and red grape, a little bourbon. A little different, and I like it.

Draft at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Deep opaque brown-black body with orange edges, thin dense cream coffee nose. Heavy, chalky chocolate and roasted nose with oak barrel notes. Sharp chocolaty body, lots of sharp sugars and roasted malt, with oak barrel, marshmallows, and loads of toffee increasing with warmth, in addition to alcohol notes. Airy and a tad thin. Quite nice.

Draft at the brewpub. Translucent coppery body, thin off-white head. Oaky nose with citrusy hops, light notes of grape, and alcohol. The body is mostly oak and somewhat faded citrusy hops with grape notes and warming alcohol. Light but constant buttery notes. Interesting but I wouldn’t likely order another one.

Draft at the brewpub. Deep murky brown-black with reddish highlights, medium to thick creamy light brown head. Plummy, roasty nose, inky and bittersweet. Lots of roasted barley and chocolate in the body, some licorice and plum but not terribly dense, at the lighter end for Imperial stouts with mostly roasty notes and barely registering any heat.

Thin brown draft. Pleasant roast coffee on palate. But thin on the finish.

On tap. Pours a clear ruby with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma is full of rich semi sweet raspberry with a grain backbone. Flavor has similar rich raspberry notes that are jam like with a light sweetness. A nice raspberry beer.

On tap. Pours a cloudy yellowish orange with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of bitter grapefruit and sweet citrus with an earthy grain backbone. Flavor starts with bitter grapefruit that mellows and allows sweet citrus and a grain backbone to come through.
