Description
Am 16. Januar 1877 erwarb Dietrich Oechsner das Gasthaus „Zum Anker“ samt der dazu gehörenden Ankerbrauerei (gegründet in 1833) in Ochsenfurt. Sein Sohn Konrad Oechsner übernahm 1889 die Brauerei und das Gasthaus. 1902 begann er mit dem Brauereineubau in der Klinge, unmittelbar angrenzend an die Altstadt. Der Erwerb der ältesten Brauerei in Ochsenfurt im Dezember 1936 und des dazugehörenden Gasthaus „Zum Bären“ in Ochsenfurt ist ein weiterer Baustein in der Erfolgsgeschichte der Brauereifamilie Oechsner.

Mitte der 60er Jahre übernahm Konrad-Dietrich Oechsner das Ruder in dem mittelständischen Unternehmen. Er war es auch, der aus dem „Ankerbräu“ die „Privatbrauerei Oechsner“ machte. Nach seinem plötzlichen Tod 1981 war es seine Ehefrau Annemarie, die, gemeinsam mit den Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern das Unternehmen weiterführte. Mit Dipl. Braumeister Dietrich Oechsner steht jetzt der Vertreter der sechsten Generation der Brauereifamilie Oechsner an der Spitze der Privatbrauerei.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Roasty bready aroma. Malty sweetish, roasty caramelly flavor. Pleasant drinker.

Bottle, picked up in an Imbiss next to the A7. Blonde. Wheat and lemon in the aroma. Wheaty dry, slightly herbal flavor with lemon. Decent.

Bottle. Caramel and pear drups in the aroma. Caramelly flavor with banana sweets and soft herbal notes. Sufficient, but not really exciting.

Aroma has soil and moldy tones. Also some sweetish malt. Flavour has sweet malt, grassy hops, some alcohol and menthol. Somewhat offensive, not good.

Aroma has buttery malt and cardboard. Flavour has buttery malt, mint, some mild menthol tones and cardboard notes. Finishes with herbs. OK leichte.

Keg at the Waterloo Tap, 08/02/19. Hazed golden orange with a decent offwhite cap. Nose is banana, clove, bitter sweet orange, light breads. Taste comprises grass, breads, sugars, caramel, ripe banana, clove, straw, trace of orange. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough Hefe ... ticks the style boxes if a tad sweet.

On keg at Waterloo Tap. It's rebadged as Fur Trapper Four, which the barman told me confused them too. Typical sweet verging on sickly.light gold thin bodied Helles. Nothing to add.
