Keg at the brewery taproom - Hackney Wick. Pours black-brown with a dense, lasting creamy beige head. Medium to big sweet flavour, some slight autumnal spices, relaxed cocoa, low roast, raisins, burnt toffee. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, a little sticky, subtle pumpkin notes, creamy vanilla, more cocoa, dark fruit accents. It is interesting stuff. And it is reasonably drinkable. Decent boost sauce.

Keg at the Hackney Wick spot. Pours hazed gold with a tight, creamy white head. Light-medium sweet flavour, semi ripe citrus, relaxed rindy bitterness, background pale bread. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Decent balance in the finish, nips of papaya, more ripening citrus, faint pine. Drinks fine but it’s fairly mellow.
