Cask handpull at Willow Walk Spoons, Victoria. Deepish brown colour, thin beige head. It’s a slightly low flavoured bitter, nothing wrong with it, just no real flavour or hop.

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Dark amber with a dense creamy head; grainy aroma; creamy texture with sweet, slightly sour, malts and some toffee; dry finish. Very mediocre, surely they could do better than this, it’s not even a good copy of their usual keg cr*p.

Cask at The Penny Black, JDW, Bicester, Oxon 16-04-09 Pours reddy amber with a white head. This is really very fruity and malty, didn’t read the tasting notes so the banana thing bypassed me but on a fruit theme I did get strawberry in the taste department. Bitterness is fairy average but quite decent, pleasantly tangy and just a decent fruity, malty effort that I quite enjoyed. A5 A4 F7 P4 Ov13 3.3
