Pours light brown, very little head that is gone by the time you throw the bottle away. Even though I always get a headache with this beer it’s not that bad. Slightly sweet and bitter. Much better on tap, I’m sure the clear bottle doesn’t help it.

Draught. Clear dark amber colour. Nice creamy white head. Low carbonation. The flavour is mostly grainy, though not too unpleasant. I should stop rating this shit.

Bottle, thx to fonefan. An amber, clear beer with an off-white head. Biscuity malty aroma with a pleasant fruityness. Nice, but very gentle. Malty sweetness, in the flavor, quite biscuity, with fruityness and a decent bitterness. Biscuity, roasted finish. Medium body. A quite pleasant malty beer, but a bit too gentle. (080822)

I had my first Newcastle tonight and I was damn pleased. Dark, rich brown color. No head to speak of but the beer does have enough body to fill you up a bit. Great flavor, kind of a caramel, chocolate type thing it’s got going. Real tasty. (Originally rated a 3.7 on 27 August 2008. Now giving it, in July 2023, a more reasonable 3.2.)

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweetmalty with strong notes of caramel and toffee as well as a light touch of spices. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, toffee, and spices among them nutmeg. Thanks to fonefan and Brugmansia for sharing.

On tap on Malta. Clear amber colour, creamy head. Aroma of nitrogen, some malts, little caramel, water. Flavour is much the same, with a touch of bitterness. Smoothness and creamy texture make up for the lack of flavours. Nice.
