on tap at "carlsens skvatter" Odense: Nutty brown with fine white head. Low carbonation. Aroma of sweet malts and nuts. Very few hops in here. A bit of sweetness. Finish is short! Just decent!

Dark rusty brown. Off-white small head. Sweet aroma of caramel malt. Caramelly flavour. Strong carbonation. Too sweet to be the right choice to chicken meat.

Can. Little aroma - light malt. Dark tan color. Good ale malt flavor especially at room temperature - not near as good ice cold. Don’t let this beer sit in cans too long - takes on a strong metallic flavor quickly. Otherwise not a bad choice if there’s not much else - if Honslow and Ford Prefect drink it, how bad can it be?

Cask handpump at the Royal, Bingley, West Yorks, 20-05-06 served to cold which seemed to remove what little taste that there probably was to start with, amber, dull and unexciting.

Draft. This is a fairly lifeless beer. Nut brown in appearance with a dense head. Not a lot of aroma, but what’s there hints at sweetness. Not much flavor — perhaps some nuts. There is a slightly bitter aftertaste to the soft mouthfeel.

Bottled. Nutty red-brown ale with a beige lacings-leaving head. Malty caramel-aroma with some roastiness and hops. Malt-dominated flavor, with a light hoppiness in the finish. Here in Norway, I think this is one of the best and most quaffable foreign beers available in grocery stores. (060429)

bottle - Pours amber with a small head. The aroma was fairly malty and not much else. The flavor was similar. There was some hops presence but to me the hops tasted kind of off. The finish is okay and pretty unremarkable, like the beer. It’s a decent session brew, but nothing I’d try to track down again. Brewery note - it closed over a year ago and the beer is retired? Is that accurate? It doesn’t seem hard to find now.
