Cask at the gothique 29/03/13. Dark caramel thin tan head. Rich big caramel vanilla soft roast aroma. Velvet palete. Firm roast bitter finish. Big bold flavour for 5.4% great.

Danke an Scopey. Herb-röstiger Antrunk mit (starken) Schokoladennoten im Hintergrund. Rund würzig, weiterhin stark röstig. Leicht hefig, milde steigende Bitterkeit. Deutlich holzig, Karamell, das Aromenspektrum erweitert sich. Schokoladig bitteres Finish mit starker Hopfennote. 11/12/11/12/12/12

Bottle from Oddbins London Bridge. Clear gold with lasting white head. Faint oxidised diacetyl aroma. Yes in the mouth the feel is good and the finish is ok but the aroma and flavours really let it down. On this example not a good pale ale.

Bottle at home. Sweet floral hop aroma, some vanilla and strawberries nepolitan ice cream aroma. Crystal clear pale golden colour. Short lived thin white head. Flavour is lacking. Some crisp earthy hops. Moderate bitterness. little mineral bite in the finish. Malt character is nutty.

Bottle from my last ever haul at the Mr Lawrence Off Licence Brockley before their venture into the mail order market. Blonde coloured pour with a white head. Vanilla, citrus and wet moss aroma. Mild citrus and herb flavour. Long malt linger. Good bitter finish.

Aroma of dark malts, chocolate, bit bready, roasted malts
Taste of dark malts, soft bitter hops, nice mellow roast, rich smooth malts, soft bitter chocolate
Palate - Medium body,smooth texture, smooth dark mouthcoating malts. Finish has a nice soft roast and a dark malt chcolate linger

Bottle, from Budgens N5 area, at JF’s Calcutta Cup mini tasting - 02/02/13. Clear copper/chestnut brown with reddish hues and a thin off white head. Nose is candied sugars, toffee, berry fruits. Taste comprises caramel malt, biscuit, toffee, summer fruits, sugars. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. A decent enough drop !

Battersea beer festival 06/02/2013. Opaque black with a thin beige head. Viscous velvet palate. Big choc farm manure nose. Soft carb. Roasty toasty farmyard flavour. Earthy.
