Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Leighton. Clear deep brown beer, a few pale tan bubbles for a head. Palate is comparatively light and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Sweet and spice laden dark malts, alcohol spice. Some dark chocolate. Savoury sweet dark fruits. Light dry finish. Entertaining but lacks the complexity of some of the earlier anniversary beers and from a 17% monster you want a little more. Still good though.

12 oz bottle. Pours a fully hazy golden with a white head. Citrusy grassy aroma with honey. Nice citrusy hop edge, some grassy hop, pale and honey-like malt flavors. Wasn’t expecting much, but it’s actually pretty good.

Draft as Shmaltz Hanukkah Beer (8%) at the Brick Store, Decatur, GA. Dark gold with a big white head. Multifaceted aroma with toffeed malt and some intense green papaya hop. Sweet taste but never cloying. Light notes of tobacco and banana leaf along with more toffee. Well-carbonated palate hides a body that may be a trifle too thin. Good beer.

Bottle - Buttercotch and some bourbon notes. Cloudy copper brown with a small beige head. Dark malts and some soured barrel notes. Disjointed and a bit harsh.

Amber-brown. Thin head. The bourbon is quite evident on the nose. It’s a touch sticky, touch bourbony. A lot of bourbon. Alcohol dryness, and sticky. The issue for me is the base beer has no real focus...it’s a generic strong ale. Ultimately, a nondescript beer that has a lot of bourbon character.

22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out light bourbon, a little vanilla, a touch of dark fruits, and toasted malt. Flavour is kind of obscured, with toasted bread, woody oak, a touch of tobacco and maybe a hint of dried dark fruits. Doesn't have close to the depth that is described. Earthy, bitter finish, with dry, toasty, oaky finish. Decent.
