A hazed amber IPA with a thin off white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with smooth floral hops, light rye notes. In mouth, a nice smooth caramel with nice grassy and floral hops, orange pulp and pink grapefruit, nice and classic IPA. On tap at Breukelen Bier Merchant, June 30, 2012.

Bottle @ Papsø. Pours a clear dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity hoppy piney dark fruit aroma. Sweetish malty bourbon caramel and dark fruit flavor with hoppy hints. Has a sweetish malty caramel finish.

Bottle 22fl.oz.Clear dark brwon colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly to fully diminishing, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, bourbon, figs, date, light alcohol. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic. [20120616]

Total Wine, Fairfax 650ml ($5): Pours a copper color with a nice big head. Aroma is citrus hops, grapefruit-like: very west-coast, but not extreme. Taste is similar. Medium body. Proper carbonation. Relatively easy-drinking. Hoppiness is moderate. Bitterness is present. Aftertaste is acceptable. Beer is good.

Bottle. Stale malty aroma. Hazy orange amber with a large beige head. Burnt toast and sugar flavor with a light bitter hop finish. Light to medium body. Not particularly bad, but not especially enjoyable either.

8ottled at tasting at TEJA. Almost clear brownish amber, small head heavily caramelly. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Caramelly and grassy, mid bitter finish. Generic caramelly stuff.

Aroma: The nose has some dark fruits/raisin, alcohol, wood, and sweet caramel malts
Appearance: Pours a murky looking reddish-brown color, a light brown head, and a mild lace
Flavor: The taste is sweet and hot, lots of overripe fruit, heavy boozy, with some oak and caramel
Palate: It is full bodied, with a thick, sticky texture, and some mid-heavy heat that leads to a long, hot finish
Overall Impression: This is one is fairly sweet and fairly hot. It is also pretty intense. You can really feel the 13.4%, as well as the big malty punch from the over-ripe fruits and the sweet caramel. Those two components were the key components of this one. I'd like to see how this one ages, it's still pretty huge at this point.

bottle at Ft Wayne tasting - Pours dark amber-brown with a tan head. It has a rich malty aroma with dark fruit. The flavor is of very sweet malt, dark fruit, and some alcohol in the background that’s pretty unavoidable at 14% abv. It works though. Somehow a blend of so many malts and hops with a huge abv has produced a tasty, full bodied brew though IMO not as good as some of their previous anniversary ales.
