330ml bottle, enjoyed many times in Germany, but this one from Erzengel. Many thanks chap. Pours clear gold, good white head. Aroma is nicely sweet. Taste is distinctly Northern German with lightly sweet malts and a medium bitterness. Seems a touch watery tho.

May β15. A 0.5 l bottle from a supermarket, enjoyed at the wonderful English Garden park in Munich. Skipped it so many times, I really had to buy it. Herbal hop, some grain and hay in aroma. Flavor was moderately bitter, herbal, with biscuit and light honey malt in the background to balance it out. Medium bodied with moderate, dry paper and herbal finish. As expected, rather an average classic German pils, not bad.

Bottle @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Golden-blonde with a small carbonation and next to no head. Has a decent pils aroma, less obvious in taste.

Bottle at Oproer. Clear golden with quick diminishing white head. Stale, steel-like bitter, like a dead pilsner. Light sweet, moderate bitter, very light sour bend in the finish. Low carbonation, turns flat completely in a few minutes.

0.5l bottle from hieber, 0.80β¬.
pours a clear pale golden with a medium white head and a nice lacing. aroma of grassy and sulphuric hops. flavour of grass, corn, hops. less bitter and more watery than regular jever, oily mouthfeel is gone as well. not too bad for the style, though.

12 oz. bottle date stamped 09/2016 into a shaker pint. A: Pale yellow clear pour with a quickly falling bubbly head. Little lacing. Visible bubbles. S: Light herbal hop scent and scant biscuit notes. Very European smell. T: Bitter herbal/floral hop bite hits first. Doughy malts are then left in the bitter finish. Crisp, clean and refreshing. M: Crisp mouthfeel and average carbonation. Clean dry finish with a slight bitterness lingering at the end. O: Just getting around to trying this champion pilsner. Quite good and drinkable but at $12/6 there are many better value options.

Pours gold with a creamy, white head that lingers. Aroma is herbal and malty, however in taste the malts take a backseat to the pronounced hops presence. Dry, coarse, quite bitter over the tongue, very little sweetness. Medium bodied, the texture is just a little oily. All in all a fairly decent German pilsener.
