Can. Gummy nose, plastic, orange, sweat. A bit weird and funk-ass. Some caramel and biscuit too. Orange-gold with a fine high head and tons of bubbles. Malty flavor, minerals, sweet bredy, grapefruit. Weird. Very gassy. Seems to have a bacterial infection, with the off nose and all the bubbles. I had one a couple weeks back after a night of drinking and it did not taste like this. Bad 2nd batch? This is gross.

Can from Tanakaya. Pours a clear golden copper with a fluffy white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Harsh grassy and malt-forward nose that is more lager-like than IPA-like. Big earthiness on the palate with very strong malt character. The malt seems a little old to me as well. Very astringent bitter finish that feels way to over-attenuated. Not a fan, and prefer captain crow buy a landslide. Nope.

Pours a bit darker shade of golden, decent white foam that takes its time to settle. Surprisingly aromatic. I havenβt really been a big fan of Echigo beers but this one is rather surprising. Lightly fruity, some passion fruit in the nose, complementing light grassiness. Grassy hops are also in the taste, relatively toned down alcohol and not so strong body - but does not really feel unbalanced. Not the greatest IPA in Japan but definitely well done by Echigo and a good deal for its price.

Echigo most likley made this Flying IPA to cater to the export market judging by the cool US style dragon on the label. A clear copper gold with a citrus, prickly pine and sweet malty aroma. Medium bodied with a raspy carbonation. The taste is earthy pine while the sweetness is a touch on the cloying side. An average IPA in the Aooni vein so good enough for the price but I prefer Captain Crow or the aforementioned Aooni which feel smoother.

Thank you jmgreenuk. 500 ml. bottle sampled @ Pre-Borefts Ratebeer Tasting 2016. Clear pale golden, little white head. Nose is mellow sweet paper, bread, sugar, neutral. Taste is dull cereal, sugar, rice, sugar, bland, neutral no bad notes. Quite bland, boring, hollow. Given that this is a German styled lager made with rice, this is pretty decent for what it is even it isnβt all that good.
