Shaker pour @ moto-i. This has been one of the most disappointing beers I have had in a while. It is a piss macro-yellow with a thick head. It is way too clear and way too light of a color. Aroma is banana esters and overly sweet Belgian aspects. Especially for a beer like this, its too light to be this sweet. Taste is too sweet, the esters are too strong for the rest of the beer as well. It has a strong mineral feel and an overly tingly carbonation. I feel something good can be made with this beer but this isn’t it right now.

I really liked this. Served from a cask at Winterfest 09. I can’t remember the last time I had an imperial stout with so many tannis, berry, and red wine character. Some soy sauce, thick palate. The best new imperial stout I have had in a long time. Some chocolate.

This could use some refinement, but it is a good start. Licquorice aroma and anise in the flavor. Surprisingly dry, with lots of yeast, good real Belgian character.

Winterfest 2009. Very sweet for the style. Some caramel. Gold color, and moderate hops with citrus. Good, drinkable, sessionable pale ale.

Winterfest 2009. Nutmeg in the aroma. Some apple pie, sweet canned pie filling. Sweet flavor overall, and the alcohol is noticeable. Spiced and warming. A good beer.

ABR 2008. Standard, it is hard to do a lot with a brown ale. Full enough malt flavor and aroma, lightly roasted, and something to toss back. Very light hops, some nutty flavor. Dark brown color.

Not a bad start here. Light apricot aroma. Flavor has more apricot, but it is light again. Wheat in the flavor as well. Pretty solid apricot beer.

Tap and Stub & Herbs. This is a mid-grade saison. Certainly not comparable to something from Fantome or Blaugies, but for a new brewery in Minnesota, not bad at all. The cloudy color is right, but no sediment. The aroma has yeast, cloves, some citrus, along with the flavor that is more of the same but also includes some sugar. Medium palate. Lightly spiced. Some wheat. A decent first try. It needs more intense flavor.
