New seasonal from Brewerkz. Hazy golden-tan. Loose head. Nice mellow citrus aroma - maybe not enough of it, though. Citrusy, bitter and clean with a light fruitiness.

Hazy, tan. Even head looks like sparkler. Earthy herbal nose. Juicy, toasty, well-balanced palate. Very authentic - the pint disappears before I’ve had a chance to write anything...always a good sign in a bitter.

640 ml bottle lugged back from Singapore and sent to me by alagnak. I read Chris’ review, so I approach this beer with a great deal of curiosity. "BELGIAN-STYLE Maximum Maltiness" on the label only heightens this. Pour is cloudy amber orange with a loose off white head that falls quickly to just a few loose bubbles rimming the glass. Aroma of a weird celery salt vegetal sort of grain along with the advertised maximum maltiness. As it opens a bit, the funky vegetables take a turn toward old, borderline rotting vegetables. Not terribly pleasant. Taste is initially toasted caramel malt, with a nice soft straw and hay. Mid way through, it turns to the vegetal taste of the nose, though it is thankfully devoid of the "rotting". There is also a sourish orange fruit sweetness present. The finish and aftertaste are a strong pepper and yeast spice. Taste is much better than the nose. The transitions of flavors in this are not real smooth. Palate is medium, light carbonation, pretty heavy overall. This was a weird one. As it warmed up to room temperature, it got much more pleasant and integrated - picking up a few points in the process. Regardless, thanks for the effort on getting this to me Chris.
