(bottle, three weeks past BB-date) Slightly hazy, pale golden colour with a small creamy white foam. Light sweet malty and bready, slightly citrusy aroma with herbal hops. Bitterish flavour, light to medium body, medium carbonation. Malty, slightly bready taste, also a bit yeasty with the right dose of hops; dryish bitter hoppy finish.

Bottle. Weak aroma. Golden colour, small stable white head. The flavour is thin, more like watery pils than alcohol free. Slightly bready and the usual harsh bitterness. Still more pleasant than many other alcohol free beers. A bit salty, seems isotonic.

Can. Clear, pale golden with almost no head, just some white suds. Grainy, slightly acidic aroma. The flavor has a sour bitterness and malts and grains. Sweet, sticky mouthfeel and a thin body. (060410)

In a way I’m disappointed in having had this. I thought I was getting the original weisse that I have been looking for for a very long time, but now I learn I had the good, and ever rarer, dunkelweizen; so the original continues to evade me. I had this at Krah Krah in Vienna. Very dark gold and a large head. Citrus and banana aromas, as well as yeast. Little pieces of sediment. Sweet wheat, coriander, and citrus. Dry finish. A little disappointing after looking for so long, but still excellent. The thick, sweet beer reminds me of NG Solstice.

Bottle: Very pale golden, thin foamy layer, quickly diminishing; sweet malty, but also cardboardy nose, maybe some traces of hops detectable; moderate bitter, but also cardboardy flavour, quite light-bodied; very faint - almost tasteless - finish. Noble hops (Edel-Hopfen), where are they ?

Cask handpull at Fly in the Loaf, Liverpool. Dirty cloudy orange gold colour. More cloves than some weiss with a touch of banana and bubblegum. Even a touch of smoke. Otherwise a tad watery and a tad lifeless and thin 2.8 re rate golden lion pub in Bayreuth. Esters on aroma. A standard weisse but decent and solid. Pleasant and drinkable.

Pour is a cloudy copper with a white head. Aroma is a nice wine and vinegar smell. Flavor is sweet and fruity. Almost like drinking a fruit juice of some kind. More cider tasting than hefe. I got this outta bargan bin so maybe its off.
