An attractive 33cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. A bright amber pour with a tight white head; aroma of fresh grapes and gooseberry; light and fragrant in the mouth with a light fizz and then a gooseberry bitterness; levaing a clean crisp finish. An excellentr single hop beer that really shows off the Nelson Sauvin hops.

Pale golden color. Frothy white head, very carbonated. Sweet malty nose with lots of fresh cereal notes. The mouth is sweet with stewed vegetables and cereal notes. Very carbonated. The beer is fairly fresh - I assume cold conditioned to Japan and technically sound but still not up to top level from Germany.

Slightly hazy copper and amber coloured body with a nice three to four centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of rich malts, with a lot of caramel and toffee notes along with some grasses and hop bitterness along with some alcohol around. Medium-bodied; Strong herbal flavour at first with some tea-like flavours with a touch of yeast and alcohol around. Aftertaste shows more of a toffee and caramelised sugar like sweetness and a dose of lighter alpha acid hops showing some more English and earthier flavours. Overall, a decent APA (assuming that A means American), but not too great and way more Earthy than a typical APA, and shows more to me of an EPA with some pungent notes. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Jason’s Market Place at Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan on 24-July-2017 for NT$145 sampled in my hotel room here in central Taipei, Taiwan on 27-July-2017.

Super hazy golden coloured body with a peach glow and a thick, four to five centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of rich super banana-y scents along with some light spices and a good deal of wheat and yeast - very pungent and very bright. Medium-bodied; Strong wheatie flavours with bubblegum, cloves, coriander seed, yeast, bananas and a little bit of allspice noticeable along with a big dose of curacao sweetness, all ending with more yeast - very nice throughout with a smooth, yet rich flavour that shows quite well, especially in the head. Aftertaste shows some nice flavours with bananas, yeast and wheat by far the strongest. Overall, a nice german hef with some good flavours throughout - add in to the fact that this beer is nice to have here in the East and also I didn’t have to carry this heavy bottle across any oceans! I sampled this 33 cL stubby bottle purchased from Jason’s Market Place at Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan for NT$135 on 24-July-2017, sampled in my hotel room here in central Taipei, Taiwan on 26-July-2017.

RIch, super hazy, raw golden coloured body (think Manuka honey from NZ) with a copper glow, and a thick, three to four centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of rich alcohol and biting hops with tropical fruits, pine, resin, alcohol, yeast and some deep malts all noticeable throughout the long smells. Full-bodied; Strong rich hop bite at first from pine and tropical fruits that shows a ton of alcohol, a good deal of grain and earthier malts along with some toffee and lightly caramelised sugar sweetness throughout. Aftertaste, a good beer with a lot of hop character with a good deal of hops, but nothing too terribly amazing for the style - a good beer for sure, but nothing amazing; However, on this side of the world it is a bit unique and nice to try. Luckily even more, I was in a relative non-beer part of the world (although Taipei is quite nice!) and drinking this here without lugging it halfway around the world is even better! I sampled this 50 cL thick, studded bottle purchased from Jason’s Market Place at Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan on 24-July-2017 for NT$250 sampled in my hotel room here in central Taipei, Taiwan on 26-July-2017.

Copper coloured body with a great, five to six centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of amazingly rich white grapes, floral, grassy and especially tropical fruity hops with passionfruit, lychee and guava notes around. Medium-bodied; Assertive hops up front with a nice flavour and interestingly enough, not much bitterness. Great mild malts that show some body but not overwhelming - the hops speak for themselves here, as they should. Aftertaste is mild with a lot of hops and tropical fruit notes, but not much alcohol and hardly any malt make this very nice and hop-centric. Overall, a great beer to try and nice to sample this hop varietal without traveling to New Zealand nor bringing this heavy bottle back home! I sampled this 33 cL studded bottle purchased from Jason’s Market Place in Taipei 101, Taipei, Taiwan on 24-July-2017 for NT$135 sampled a few hours later here in my hotel in Central Taipei, Taiwan on 24-July-2017.

Tap at CBB Garden’s IPA & Meat Event. A deeper amber-copper color with a 1cm head of foam. Fruity and malty bouquet. Medium bodied and bitter woodsy pine. The taste is green earthy pine with some fruit notes. Tasty enough.
