Bottle. Amber with a fine, lasting white head. Aroma of sweet tropical fruit and caramel, kumquats. Very sweet and has a fair bit of body. An array of citrus - kumqaut, grapefruit and lime - but it’s mango, earth and toffee that come though most until it dries out a little and the bitterness grips. Then there’s a nice hit of pepper. A bit caramel heavy for me but good.

(Bottle, 0.5 l - bottled on 14 August 2015, at One Pint Pub, 20170715) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had liquorice, dark chocolate, burnt malts and sweetness. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, liquorice, dark chocolate, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. A tasty balanced imperial stout that hid its rather high ABV very well.

On tap at Vrteška 2017, Belgrade. Shared with Višnja 666! Dark brown, medium tan head. Roasty, biscuit, dry fruit, light soy sauce. Sweet and roasty balance, aromatic. Medium body, medium carbonation, light dry, roasty finish. Very nice, great balance.

330ml bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring as Aotearoa Pale Ale. A hazy bright amber pour with a thin white head; aroma of tropical fruit and grapefruit; sharp fresh grapefruit taste; and a clean crisp finish; all enclosed in the most tactile bottle I’ve ever come across. Good style, good beer.

Bottle. Amber with a white head. Aroma of bread crust, honey, kumquats, some tropical fruit, pepper. Medium bodied, carbonation is too high. Bittersweet with bread crust and some sweet tropical fruit, bitterness oozes through. Not their most vibrant beer, but a solid drinker. Best before of 11/18 strikes me as a bit optimistic. --- Beer merged from original tick of Tomahawk American Pale Ale on 12 Jul 2017 at 08:27 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8. An attractive and tactile 33cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. A pale straw coloured pour with a thin white head and very light carbonation; bready aroma with hints of lemon and honey; smooth and grainy in the mouth, with sweet biscuity malts balanced with a grassy bitterness; and a crisp finish with a touch of spice. Nicely made beer in a nicely made bottle.

500ml bottle. Clear, orangey golden colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Caramel malty and citrusy hoppy aroma, hints of orange, mandarine, gooseberry, a spicy yeasty touch. Taste is bitter hoppy, slightly fruity, notes of gooseberry, a touch of citrus, biscuity pale malty basis, cautious funky and spicy yeasty overtones; minimally chalky finish with decline in fruitiness.
