Bottled, thanks baggio! Cloudy near black, rich beige head. Aroma of salted winegums, viokla and licorice. Mid sweet with soft mouthfeel and full body. Flavours of licrorice, marzipan and tobacco. Lots of dusty resiny bitterness. Typical Belgian stout.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie April 2011 consumed outside Frank (camper) at Camping Igueldo, Igueldo Nr San Sebastian, Basque Country, Northern Spain 04.07.11 Pours murky brown with tan head that is liberally dotted with specks of yeast. Malty on the nose but also quite beefy bit like an oxo cube has been crumbled into this. Full flavoured beer with elements of chocolate, some tobacco, loads of yeast and some fruit. Really likeable beer, I’m well into this. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.7

Bouteille 75cl. Cuivre, beige.

Roping!!! yet good light-beige head over amber beer with a reddish sheen. Sherry-like nos, rosewater and old Tarragonwine. Taste is not bad, with alcohol and higher alcohols; fruity and other yeasty esters. Retronasal flowery (violets) flavour. Obviously very slick, roping, gluey viscous. Very strange beer, not bad, only the roping is off-putting. Not a real Barley Wine, all tasters agree. Thanks to Stefaan!

Bottle that I picked up at Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie, December 2010 consumed at home 16.01.11 Pours hazy amber with a white head. There is a little funkiness on the nose along with yeast and fruity and a dab of alcohol. Soft in the mouth, touch of spice and yeast and fruity, finish is dry. It’s a nice beer. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
