[Bottled] Hazy deep golden. Aroma of almonds and perfume. Sweet, fruity and soft. Well balanced with plenty of malt to back flavour of orange and yeast induced almonds. Lingering bitter finish. Apparently this is a new beer, being launched in mid August 2006.

Bottled. Clear amber, brief head. Aroma of paper and caramel. Dryish with some spiciness, like from mustard and salt. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. The finish holds some malt sweetness and more mustard seeds.

Slightly hazy orange-gold beer with peach shine; good off-white head, rather stable. White candi sugar, citrus, both pale and coloured malts in the nose. Toasted taste, quite sweet, bit of caramel or even toffee, and a pinch of citrus. Retronasal even licorice and a bit of almonds. Quite light bodied, not very highly attenuated. Bit fizzy - or is that the temperature it was served at? Not very high-brow, not much going on in there, with a malt sweetness that is way too marked, making it not very finely balanced.

Bottled at Delirium, Gothenburg. Golden with a small white head. Fruity aroma with caramel-notes. Taste is round, ripe and with cellar-notes. Mouldy. A small farm brewery? At least it made me think of a farm. Very different opinions around the table, some were very disappointed, but I think that was mostly the price, about 20€ for 0,5 liters!. It’s still a nice-looking beer, clear golden body and a off-white pillow on top, but the aroma and flavor are both weak and giving a slightly sour impression. Fruityness, some pale malts and a little caramel does most of the work. Some bitterness in the finish. Medium body, effervescent. I am kind of sorry for rerating this one, instead of living on the memories, but couldn’t resist when I got the opportunity. 090822

Draught Orange-amber beer, hazy; very even fine head, amberish tinted, resistent. Fruity-herbal nose: quite some citrus/orange, bit peppery. Quite dry taste, and a bit phenolic, but this impression is only fleeting. Gets again more fruity, citrussy to finish on a long dry flavour. Quite creamy texture, full-bodied despite the dryness. Nice, quite in the style of this brewery. Drinks rather dangerously easy for its 9% ABV.

Non-transparant orange to amber; good but small white head, leaving some lace. Very fresh nose with green herbs (thyme,...), a bit of coloured malts, and some candi sugar. Taste, rather dry, yields caramel, tobacco (pipe - especially). Finishes with a little pinprick of acidity. Medium to well bodied, yeast slick. Very fine, more subtle beer, despite its respectable strenght. Gives a very fresh impression.

(draught) Hay-amber-orange; little off-white rim. Very outspoken nose of toasted bread. Slightly piney, wood in the finish. Malty taste, but also loads of cardboard. Orangey finish. If it’s refreshing, it’s because it was served ice-cold on draught. Is it the beer, is it the serving, is it the taster? Something is amiss. Boring, and the cold killed much possible other tastes.

Gushing to enormous white head; pale yellow beer with greenish haze, very carbonated. Very hoppy nose, fresh hops, very faint citrus. Distinct though faint smoked malt flavour initially. slight acidity, even a bit tart; no citrus no spices however - good. Bit of bitterness accumulates in the palate. Special extra grain in the flavour, as if some extra grain has been used (buckwheat, spelt, oats,...?) Rather full-bodied for a witbier. Slight acidity. Nice wit. No unnecessary spicing.

Bottled. Amber coloured, cloudy. Sugary aroma. Sweet with hard mouthfeel. Slightly vinous, some yeastyness. Salty finish with some candy sugar.

Bottled. My bottle was simply labelled "Sainte Hélène Blanche". Hazily dark yellow. Fruity vinous aroma. Sweet and clean with heavy orange flavour. Yeasty, peppery and surprisingly bitter for a wit.
