Description
In August of 2005, the first jack hammer went into the ground in the empty warehouse in Pleasantville, New York, that was to become the living dream of our founder Scott Vaccaro. We brewed our first batch of beer in December of 2005. In December of 2011 we moved to Elmsford, finished construction of our new brewery, brewed our first batch of beer, and slowly shut down our old location. In 2014 we decided that it was time, after 9 years of making sour and wild ales, to take it to the next level by opening our new sour ale production wing, lovingly dubbed the “Fermento Funk Facility”.

Murky dull orange colour with soapy head. Has lots of pithy citrus fruits. Maybe too much actually. It's drifting too far away from beer and offers no balance.

Very hazy golden coloured body with a fairly thin, one centimetre tall off-white and light tan head that caps the beer nicely above the 80 per cent opaque body. Aroma of honey, flavours, grass, hay and resin and a small dose of grapefruit and lemons. Medium to Full-bodied; Pretty rich and resinous hop notes show at first with a good alpha acid punch and some smooth, but strong wheat and oat malts that provide good balance, but seemingly add to the bitterness quotient. Aftertaste is pretty hop-forward with some grapefruit and stone fruit notes, but the dryness, pungency and astringency here is strong, perhaps a bit overpowering - especially for the alcohol content. Overall, not such a great IPA - much too pungent and resinous throughout with some Imperial Status in terms of bitterness, but not enough balance here that makes this more drinkable - it's not so great and definitely a passable beer here in this series. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Newport News, Virginia on 20-November-2022 for US$4,99, canned on 06-June-2022, made it into the store on 20-July-2022 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 20-June-2023.

Very hazy deep and golden coloured body with a thin white head, only one centimetre tall above the 90 per cent opaque body with some small bubbles still rising from the sides. Aroma of alcohol, honey, caster sugar, grass with some biscuity malts, too - strong in the nose. Full-bodied; Ultra rich oaty malts hit first, but the very astringent and aggressive medicinal and bitter hops & alcohol are strongest and don't go down easily, with some light aspartame and orange notes near the end, but the alcohol burn is strong here. Aftertaste is deep, but the astringent alcohol burn with the medicinal flavours, strong malt & grainy notes with nothing real pleasant on the end, makes this pretty bad overall - much worse than others in this series! Overall, a VERY bad & passible option and with some stand out GOOD beers from this series, these beers are really all over the map in a bad way & you never really know what you're going to get until you open it and try it! This one is plain bad - too pungent, strong and not showing nearly any good notes. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine (Store #214) in Fairfax, Virginia on 23-April-2023 for US$6,49, canned on 10-October-2022 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 30-May-2023.

35,5cl can from Systembolaget, Stockholm. Pours clear golden with a white head. Solid hoppy aroma with good old hops; pine, citrus and other fruits and a fairly solid malty backbone as well. Medium sweet and rather flavourful with a decent bitterness as well. Solid stuff.

(Can) Hazy golden yellow colour with frothy, white head. Hoppy nose with notes of grapefruit, passionfruit, pineapple and lemon peel. Hoppy taste with grapefruit, pineapple, honey, lemon peel, sponge cake and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and refreshing, with a clean hop profile. Very nice.

16 oz can from Total Wine - Daytona. Pours a cloudy yellow-gold color with a large white head and great retention. Decent lacing. Tropical fruit and hops aroma. The flavor is hoppier than the aroma, and less juicy than the aroma, with a slightly boozy finish. Kinda surprising since it's only 6.0% ABV. Medium body and medium carbonation. Medium bitterness too. Not juice enough for me.

Super hazy golden and straw coloured body with a decent three centimetre all off-white head with rather large-bubbles that fades quickly above the 90 per cent opaque raw honey body. Aroma of grass, perfume, light grapefruit, lemons, yeast, dough and some rather strong white wine (like Sauvignon Blanc) grapes. Medium-bodied; Rich perfumey and dry, grassy, herbal and especially floral notes dominate and are quite pungent with a lot of hop bitterness along with a pretty noticeable pepper and floral maltiness here that ends with a dry finish and NO sweetness. Aftertaste shows a lot of dry, grassy and perfumey notes with some grapefruit and lemony pungency and astringency without much malt support and absolutely no sweetness. Overall, a rather one-sided, pungent, dank, dry, bitter and extremely peppery, astringent beer with tons of hops, some citrus fruit notes, but no sweetness, not much malts and a big dose of pepper, white wine grapes and especially flowers. I was hoping for a much better beer, with one other from this series VERY good, but this was much worse and not exciting at all, it will make me re-evaluate buying any more from this series after this one, sadly! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Altamonte Springs, Florida on 01-January-2023 for US$4,99, canned on 17-May-2022 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 26-February-2023.
