Description

0.25 l bottle at the source, best before August 2016. Slightly hazy, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly spicy aroma of caramel, honey and clove. Sweetish, slightly spicy taste of caramel, honey and lots of clove, followed by a short, slightly bitter, rather yeasty-spicy finish. Thin to medium body, quite effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Calling this a Pilsener is a joke, tastes like a watered-down version of their tripel.

Limited Edition, Barrel Aged @ Gouda. Red brown and hazy. Aroma is full of candy, fruity sweetness. Flavour is similar with sweet jam and a sharp, fresh edge.

Thank you for sharing people! Sampled bottled @ “Gouda Winterbier Festival 2016”. Murky syrupy brown, with no head. Nose is weird moldy bitterness, slimy with big sugary sweet qualities. Taste is massively weird, herbal bitter, sludge, boozy, sugar, big candy, sugary,… Weird sludgy body. This is just weird, not sure what is happening here, excessive sugar & yeast in extreme amounts? Dunno, weird & not the good kind of weird.

Bottle sample at PINT Winterbierfestival ’16. Murky orange-brown colour, no head. Aroma is sweet-sour, bit like babi pangang sauce, very fruity, alcohol, roosvicee, sugar. Flavour is very sweet, honey, lots of ripe fruits, strawberries, sweet raisins, alcoholic finish. Full bodied, thick and slimey mouthfeel. Far from good, but still tasty. Definitely a Barley Wine.
