Backlog October 2016. Dark brown, almost black body under a fine beige head. Aroma has dark malt and caramel. Taste is smooth, mild roasted dark malt, caramel, chocolate, decent bitterness and just as hint of chili. Not really chili hot, more like a spicy touch. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Nice one.

Backlog October 2016. Dark brown, almost black body under a small beige head. Aroma has caramel, dark malt and hint of licorice. Taste is smooth, mild roasted dark malt, caramel, chocolate, decent bitterness and just as hint of licorice. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Feels a bit smoother and sweeter than the original but this might as well be the storage.

bottle with 2016 printed low on the label. best before 21-12-2023 1423 Rum barrel ageed barley wine 11.5% I think the bottle is much newer than 2016 clear brown, small head. vineous and boozy aroma. the booze is certanly rum. not as much malts in the aroma as your usual barley wine, but very boozy i must say. flavor is a base of pretty nice barley wine, a bit dry for a barley wine perhaps, then a pretty substantial and agressive dose of alc. puch from booze as well as rum flavor. the booze overpowers the malts and makes the beer seem unbalanced or at least very brutal. not that much wood. I wonder if they forgot to empty the rum barrel before putting in some barley wine.. maybe midfyens is part of a rum smuggling setup where they simply smuggle rum in midtfyn bottles to norway. joke aside.. not the least boozy barley wine i have ever had.. by far..

bottle from craft beer collective pitch dark, smooth brown head. hard roasted malts, smoked malts, coffee like notes, espresso like notes. flavor is hard roasted malts, smoked malts, faint brown sugar, sour wood lagering like note. notes like if it had been aged in whiskey barrels, and fainter notes like it had been aged in red wine or port barrels. perhaps the smoked malts note i get are in fect charred wood from barrel? or wood chips? nice and complex imp stout, very brutal and very woody,so not that balanced. Quite smooth for its kind though.

clear yellow, smooth white head. Very nice hoppy aroma, quite flowery. flavor is fairly hoppy bitter, a bit flowery, also a bit like old hops, malty base is neutral to watery. bitterness is high but sort of flat and boring.Flavor is like it is more than 4.9% alc. so lots of flavor for the ABV. Decent very bitter IPA but lacks some character, body and aromatic notes.

Bottle. Clear dark amber body under a nice, lacing tan head. Nice aroma of malt, caramel, American citric hops and hint of pine. Taste is sweet and malty with balancing bitterness, actually quite bitter but still in balance. Caramel, dark fruit, citric fruit, pine. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. A really nice dark IPA with superb balance between sweetness and bitterness. Highly enjoyable.
