Description
Argo Brewery was born in 2013 combining our skill, but mostly our big passion for craft quality beer.
The idea to have as our logo an airship was due to the fact that after have travelled many places and visited different breweries we thought to remember these great experiences gathering them, all inside a yellow airship that flies over the world. In Greek mythology, Argo was the name of the Argonaut’s ship, they were travelling searching for the Golden Fleece, instead on board of our airship we flies searching for new flavors, styles and ingredients!
We make beer because it’s what we love to do… and we want simply tell..

Sampled 375 ml. bottle @ “Vini Birre Ribelli 2015”. After trying 2 different versions of the 2014 Vintage. Deep amber, probably the darkest of the 3 versions, only a few bubbles. Nose is hugely oxidized like the others, lots of grapes, floral, sherry, walnut,… Taste is huge oxidation, very dry, leaves, oak, sherry, walnut, very dry grape, caramel, lots of dry oak,… Flat, very dry,… As with the others: You can fault these for very heavy oxidation but I really dug the dry grape, oak & sherry flavours. Very heavy oxidation, mutes obv. the differences a bit.

Sampled draft @ “Vini Birre Ribelli 2015”. Black, solid mocha head. Nose is soy sauce, herbal, licorice, thin, chicory coffee. Taste is herbal, chicory, leaves, caramel, ashes, powdery mocha & some sugar. A bit thin & powdery. A slightly better alternative for Guinness lovers. I am not the biggest fan.

Sampled draft @ “Vini Birre Ribelli 2015”. Light honey amber, solid off-white head. Nose is muted pine resin, woody hops, muted & quite a bit of bready malt sweetness. Taste is a bit dull, sugary, malty with some honey, pine resin,… Malty body. Okay but a bit dull, lacking any real expression for me.

Sampled draft @ “Vini Birre Ribelli 2015”. Made with corn & German hops if I remember correctly. Hazy citrus, big creamy white. Nose is quite floral, floral bitterness, light mint, quite a bit of it, interesting hop profile but also quite a bit of sweet bread. Taste is mix of heavy cheap basic cornflakes, lots of it, esp. in the sugar, corn flakes & table sugar, floral, minty bitterness, quite bitter & esters. Dry cornflake body. Quite interesting, not entirely there for me but admirable.

Draught @ 4:20, Rome. Aroma is somewhat fruity and grainy with hay and apricot. Flavour has resiny tones, grapefruit, some minerals, hay and caramel. Also pineapple juice occurs at the middle of the glass. Aggressive hops are nice here but that just is not enough.

Draught @ 4:20, Rome. Aroma is very mild with some roasted tones. Flavour has milky tones, some roastiness, cold coffee and toffee. Also some ash. Too milky for my taste.

A very very very light gold pour with a thick eggshell white head of foam. My first whiff was corn puffs, they wheat bread and a hop bite. The palate is very dry on a light body. The taste is really good, crisp clean crackery light malts green bitter hops, white grapes very zesty. Terrific at 4.4%
