Bottle. Sweetish flavor, with an aroma that isn’t too overly powerful. Wheat and hoppy, with a citrus and banana flavor.

Bottle. Not too bad, nothing overly special. A little bitter and pretty weak, but what do you expect from the Matt Brewing Company? Decent, but not spectacular.

Bottle: Poured a dark amber color ale with a huge slightly of-white foamy head with good retention. Aroma of weak sweet malt with a very subtle touch of bitter hops. Taste is sweet with a weak malt presence and not much hops. Watery body and overall a very uninteresting beer.

I am rather tired of these overspiced one dimensional winter beers. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a chestnut color with a small tan head. The aroma is full of nutmeg and some other vague spices. The flavor is overwhelmed with nutmeg, cinnamon and clove. There are some sour malts underneath but very little beer is able to rise above the spices. There is a vague nutty finish.

Poured initially a bright and clear amber, on the dark side with a brown tinge to it. Barely any head and effervescence a bad sign. I poured the yeast so the clarity gave way to a medium haziness. Initial yeasty aroma notes at bread dough, and a touch of green apple (part of the bread dough component). Medium palate, semi-sweet up front but finishes empty and thin, with a lingering spicy hop. Lingers somewhere between abbey dubbel and pale ale. Light astringency in the finish also, which is somewhat grainy/cereal-like. A fair beer, that is all.

Amber brown color, minimal head. Spicy aroma of mostly nutmeg, some cinnamon too. Chocolatey caramel? Flavor is sweetish with caramel malts and nutmeggy spicing. The mouthfeel is a tad on the thin side - not that it’s light bodied but you just expect a little more body in a spiced winter ale. As a result, the spices tend to overwhelm just a tad. Finish is balanced, and the spices linger.

Used a scotch glass, 12 oz bottle out of a winter mix pack. Poured with just a lacing of head. Blaco, of course but penetratable by light. basically, the only redeming aspect of this beer is taste, which is ok. A good amouunt of bitterness. No taste, no aroma, no palate.

Bottle Pours a deep clear dark brown with a small but lasting light tan head. Dark roasted chocolate and leather aroma. Intense sharp roasted flavor. Smokey and astringent. A little surprised to see that it is a stout. More porterish and somewhat dry. Nice robust upfront flavors and a moderate feel. A bit sour. Not bad.

Bottled. Clear amber. Aroma of fruit, glue and crystal malt. Sweet with clean. hard mouthfeel. Medium bodied with low hop rate and low bitterness. Typical crystal malt lager.

Bottle Pours a clear medium orange amber. Very small sandy head but very durabla thin sheeting lacing. Nice moderate hop aroma. Not very strong and the malts are light and a bit sweet. Flavor is light on the body and malt character but was IPA’d by adding more hops that have a light and sharp bitterness. Quite soft carbonation and a lingering tangy bitter that doesn’t sit quite right. A bit off in general.
