Description
Conceived as a ‘nomadic’ project, The Beak has spent several years creating unfiltered, seasonally-inspired beer with friends at some the greatest UK breweries, including North Brew Co, Partizan, Beavertown, Burning Sky and Northern Monk. We've now laid roots in our hometown of Lewes in East Sussex, where we've built a 15-BBL neighbourhood brewery and taproom with a mixed-fermentation project and weekend street food canteen. Please come and say hi!

Can big thanks to my bro. It pours opaque black with a decent light tan head. The aroma is rich roasted, dark roasted coffee, espresso, charred, tobacco, nutty, light vanilla, umami and a touch of liquorice. The taste is rich roasted malt, bitter - sweet, fulsome, dark roasted malt, charred, toasted nut, big hit of coffee, light vanilla, tobacco, peppery spice, praline, gianduja, touch of alcohol (but not much), forrero rocher, espresso chocolate torte, thick gateaux vibes and earth with a drying finish.. Fulsome body and moderate carbonation. Lovely stuff. So nice to have an imperial stout not chock full of sweet fakeness. Flavourful and moreish.

12-01-22 // well hopped roast forward porter. US citrus hop notes battling a dark intense roasty malt body. Works well.

Can at home, 14th January 2022. Pours a light copper clear ale, with a perfect white frothy head. Aroma is pine and pithy citrus, grainy. Taste is superb, pithy and bitter, fresh, grains and complex, marmalade and grapefruit, orange pith and resin. Long longer in the finish which is multi dimensional. West Coaster like they used to be.

440ml can from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a light murky orange amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, mango, pineapple. The flavour is over moderate bitter and sweet, with a big, rich, juicy mango, orange rind, light tart pineapple, light pepper spice, dry hop bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation. Served too cold out of the fridge, but the flavours came flooding through 15 minutes later.

Can bought at Cobbett's, Dorking. Aroma has initial sweet juice followed by tarter stone fruit. Hazy yellow tinged orange. Thin foamy translucent white head. Juicy - there is a sweetness but it's tempered by a bitter core and sour citrus edge. Spice in the finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Slightly pithy. Long dry finish. Enjoyable punchy NEIPA.

Good Darts companion. Westcoasty marmelade and grapefruit bitter aromas while maintaining a residual sweetness. Could be a little more drier.

Can at home New Years Eve, 2021. Pours an orange haze. Nice white head. Aroma is perfume, orange flower, great hip combination! Taste is floral, citrus and pine needles, perfume from simcoe and Centinnal, delicious with a pithy bitterness to it. Great beer
