Bottle courtesy of Papsoe (a huge thanks!) and shared with ozujsko Pitch black body, thick brown head, good retention. Milk chocolate, coffee and chicory in the nose. Aggresive, strong taste, thick body. Chicory, pleasant agrumey notes (lemon-lime)... odd for an IS. Salty and bitter, some alcohol. (in the afteratste too) a good, no, great flawless imperial stout. Very, very nice and worthy of its reputation.

Bottle courtesy of Papsoe (thanks!) and shared with ozujsko Poured a murky, very dark red-orange body with a medium sized thick white head that took its time to go away. A dry, sweetesh orangey-caramelly nose, somewhat spicey, candyish, notes of tofee. The taste was sweet, notes of candied orange skins, weak, dryish notes of coffee. Thick and creamy. A bit dusty,some alcohol burn (not too much). All in all a nice beer, but not exactly a tripel.

Bottle (2007) courtesy of Papsoe (thanks), shared with ozujsko. Nice, shiny label. How Christmasey. Opened with a very loud pop, poured a nice dark dark blackish red with a huge light tan head. The nose was pleasant indeed, caramel (prsne karamele), oranges, spicy dustiness and some toffee. The taste was a surprise, maltiness with notes of bubblegum of all things (weak though) fighting with an earthy, coffeeish roasty/quite smokey woody (tannine) taste. A hint of oranges. Smooth mouthfeel but not completely thrilling. Very light hops, but I didn’t expect more from the style. Not all that assertive, the aftertaste feels a bit... flat (can’t express myself better). A great beer overall and possibly until that moment the best Danish beer I’ve ever had... and then I look at the rating and think whether me and ozujsko got an insanely good bottle or something. Way underrated in my opinion.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Storm. Pours black as mortal sin with the most fantastic, dense and creamy, light brown head. Amazing aroma of coffee and vanilla. Very full-bodied with rich accents of coffee and bitter chocolate with a bitterness that gradually builds up to be very dominant on the palate. Both malt bitter and bitter from the Zeus hops that seem to play quite a main rolle in this. Impressive. 160907

50 cL bottle, batch 65 (attempt number 65 at their Imperial Stout? I guess so, they don’t always seem to know what they are doing with their imp. stouts). Pours black and with a dense light brown lasting head. No yeast at bottom. Roasted, coffee and dark chocolate aroma. Full bodied. Flavour is smooth chocolate with hardroasted note mixing inbetween. Has a soft berry fruity note to it as well. Lingering chocolate and dark coffee into the finish, quite smooth and not as much liqourice as previously, and far from the vanilla heavy version I remember.

Bottle @ Chris_o. Pours a dark amber color with a longlasting tan head. Spicy malty and slightly hoppy aroma. Malty spicy flavor with some hoppy hints. Sweet spicy malty finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Bottle: Hazy, golden, big, slowly collapsing creamy head, yeasty wheaty, a bit skunky nose, but no signs of infection, some orangey fruitiness in the background; sweetish-alcoholic flavour, medium bodied; sweet, alcoholic, tart and fruity finish. Not great.........

Bügelverschlußflasche: Reddish to chestnut-amber coloured, hazy, dense lacy off-white head, roast-malty, sweet and caramelly and fruity nose with a very distinctive aromatic hoppy background, brandy-like alcohol in the aroma, too; very robust sweet-bitter flavour, full bodied, soft MF, lingering sweet and aromatic-hoppy finish. Gorgeous stuff...........
