Description

Bottled from Lekker Bier, BB 09 2014, large sample, served in a tulip glass. Hazy orange color, huge frothy off-white head. Aroma is grainy, spicy, slight pineapple, bit citrus, slight green apple. Bit sweet in taste, caramelly, slight bitterness. Also some apple cider sweetness, slight sugary, in a nice way. Medium to high carbonation, medium bodied. Actually not really what I expected (I expected a Belgian Blonde), but still quite nice.

Bottle. It pours a creamy, dark beige body over a next to black body. Nice lacings. Some funky notes in the aroma, with dried fruits, dark chocolate, caramel and prunes. It’s lightly sweetish on the palate, mostly on the dry side though, with dark chocolate, caramel, roasted malts and some prunes. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level. Lasting roasted finish with prunes, dark chocolate and caramel sauce. Tasteful and complex. And very nice. 140816

Bottle shared at 2014 GBBF. Aroma is banana , orange peel, resin and hot alcohol. Clouded orange light amber coloured pour with a thin lasting off white head. Flavour is alcohol, solvent, orange peel. Palate is medium chewy, solvent, highish carbonation. Lingering big harsh bitterness. No balance too much alcohol.

Bottle @ Midlaren holiday. Black colour with a large beige to light brown head. Smells roasty, lots of liquorice, tar and some iron. Tastes liquorice, roasty, tar, coal, ash, a hint of chocolate. Pretty nice, but i’m not a fan of liquorice taste in beer. Medium to full body, a bit too much carbo for this type of beer imo.
