Bottle at Deano’s monthly tasting, September 2013. Poured a dark mahogany with a frothy off white head. The aroma is of roasted malt with a little rich alcohol. The flavour is strong bitter with a rich, liqourice, alcohol palate.

Bottle shared at the Press Dean’s Button tasting. Pours cloudy brown with a small tan head. Aroma of citrus, orange, caramel malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottled, 7% ABV, BB 05-2015, large sample. Hazy dark amber color, medium frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, toffee, hint of wheat, slight spicy, bit flowery hops. Bit sweet caramelly and toffee notes in flavor, slight bitterness. Not as clean as a german style beer would be, but the caramel gives a nice natural sweet touch. Slight watery finish. Enjoyable.

Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, 2013. Pours cloudy orange with a fluffy head. Orange, yeast, perfume and citrus hops. Medium bodied.

33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning (7% according to label). Hazy, amber color. Thin, off white head. Aroma’s: caramel malts, sweet spices, bit of sweet/dried fruit. Flavor is rather sweet, caramel. Medium bodied. Bit hight carbonation. No new flavors in the finish. OK, but a bit too sweet for my liking.

33 cl bottle from bierkoning’s box of Eastern Dutch goodies - thanks Edo! Opens with a loud pssh, but no gusher. Had to pour it in turns though, because a big (white) head was forming, but only short retention. Color is clear golden - until I poured the yeast in...Aroma’s: very refreshing, sweet fruits, soft sweet spices, a bit wheat & grain retronasal, orange peel. Flavor is lightly sweet, herbal, with a light bitterness. Medium bodied. Finishes with a moderate bitterness. No witbier in the classic sense, but refreshing and tasty enough.

Road soda courtesy of Deanso. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is clean crispy and yeasty. The flavour is medium bitter with a zesty fruit, spicy bubbly palate. Very drinkable.
