Description

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a slighty hazy medium amber with a frothy white head and lots of lace. The aroma is zesty sherbet grapefruit lemon citrus with a little yeast and malt. The flavour is medium bitter. Medium bodied with a creamy texture and fizzy carbonation. A smooth fruity hop bitter palate with a long bitter finish. Not your average IPA but rather nice. Could do with less bubbles though!

Taste: malty start, honey, some pineapple, mango, bitter hops, citrus, bit piny. Aftertaste: resinous bitterness, some strawberry jam, malts, some honey, passion fruit, caramel ending. Lovely beer, I like it a lot!

Bottled, BB 04-2015, large sample. Clear ruby color, medium brown head. Aroma of spicy yeast, caramel malt, hint of raisin, hint of roast. Smells very traditional dubbel, with a good balance between spiciness of the yeast and aromatic malts. Bit sweet in taste, quite dry, spicy again. Its actually too spicy for my personal liking, but it fits the style very good and the balance is great. Good beer.

Reddish brown colour, firm beige head. Aroma of caramel, red fruits, tropical fruit, bread and cacao. Sweet malty flavour, roasted malts, bitter hops, a bit like a porter on steroids. Finish cacao, sweet malts, dates, hops and red fruits. Nice brew!!

33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Speciaal Bier Winkel in Bodegraven. I don’t see any date on the bottle & this is a BIPA… Brilliant name. Dark brown beer, murky, vanishing soapy beige head. Nise full grapefruit hops in the nose, also cocoa, coffee grounds, light ash & burned toast. Cocoa powder taste, very powdery feel, burned toast, light ash, coffee ground, chocolate mixed with lovely grapefruit & touch pine resin hops, lots of them. No integration between the parts, the beer is still very lovely? Very powdery, too high carb. body. Flawed but very nice to drink.

Purchased this from a new bottle shop in Bodegraven, Speciaal Bierwinkel? Consumed this at Camping Het Rieven, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Sunday 29th September 2013 Hugely foamy, light tan but the colour of the beer is dark brown. Some dark bitter treacle, a little molasses maybe, I know that this is a black IPA but there are other things here as well, some roastiness, its hoppy but its got a lot going on. I like this A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
