Description

0,33 l bottle, bought directly at the brewery. Pours very dark red brown in the glass, a very huge tanned head, gushing. From the distance melon on the nose, directly over the glass toffee and dark chocolate. Starts with darker chocaolate, combined with licorice. Medium floral. A little bit flat in the aftertaste, herb and hints of plastic, rough. Interesting but not my favourite of this brewery.

0,33 l bottle bought directly at the brewery. New label design. Pours dark redbrown, not-transparent. Small short living beige head. Berriefruits and woody liquorice on the nose. Starts very smooth, a lot of dark fruits. Alcoholic warm. In the middle part malt and spicy, light sour bitterness. Full body. Hints of peppermint and koreander in the late background. A little bit sticky at the end but a very good one.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a clear dark amber with a frothy off white head and some broken lace. The aroma is sweet raisins, caramel and the yeast is not far away. The flavour is sweet with a bitter liqourice palate and a short bitter finish. I liked this a lot, but the use of local yeast does not give an authentic brew, which should be a little smoother. Nevertheless, this is a beer that I would buy over and over again.

Bottled BB 06/2014, tnx bierkoning!
Dark brown color, huge off-white/brownish head. Cardboard, licorice and berries in the nose. Medium-bodied. Licorice, grassy hoppyness but also some harsh grainy-kind of flavors, ash and burned malts. Not very balanced black IPA.

mooi kastanjebruin helder met minimale kaki kraag aroma: donkere fruit, caramout, zoet en kardemon smaken: redelijk zoet, matig bitter, donkere fruit (pruim), redelijk gemout (aardse mout smaken), redelijk kruidig, kruidnagel, zoethout, kardemon, koriander, laurier romig/glad in de mond, het bier heeft een iets té overheersende kardemon smaak. --- Beer merged from original tick of Windbuul (oude versie) on 17 May 2018 at 11:36 - Score: 6

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a cloudy medium amber with a huge frothy white head. Not a gusher but not far from it. The aroma is yeast and sweet citrus fruit. The flavour is medium bitter with a yeasty weak fruit, slight liqourice, weak medicinal hop palate. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. There are lots of flavours in here, but i’m not sure I liked them all together.

Thanks bierkoning! Vintage 2011. Dark brown color, small beige head. Caramel, yeast, alcohol, light spiceyness. Medium-bodied. A bit earthy, Prunes, raisins, notes of Madeira. Tasty, perhaps slightly past its prime.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a clear dark brown with a red hue and a frothy, long-lasting white head. The aroma is dry yeast and some malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a Belgian yeast, liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with low carbonation and a thin texture. A nice beer to drink, but because of the yeast they used it retains too many Dutch characteristics and that’s not good when you are brewing a stout.
