Tap at Maxs. Kind of cool because I don't see many US breweries doing this style. Aggressively thick Amber malts. Coupled with the Belgian yeast, it comes off very full bodied for 8%. Almost has a red food dye thing going on. Gets a little brutal and choresome.

12oz can. Filtered orange body. Thin white head. Pleasant enough malt tone, but the hip balance is sort of tame and forgettable, mostly just displaying piney chinook, some zest from the simcoe. Filtration keeps it clean. Well made. Pretty standard stuff overall.

no head or lacing. Very different. From the Red Wine. Can tell difference in barrel and alcohol. Some light fruitiness from beer but not as strong as wine barrel. A lightly oppressive alcohol spirit but can't tell it's rum in particular. Astringency still there but light feeling for such a big beer. The wine barrel fruitiness made it better. The generic spirit aspect makes it worse. Lots of alcohol, astringency and malts. 636313

Draft at taproom. Had this side-by-side with the rum barrel. $10 for 12oz. Should Have just purchased the 16oz can to go. The wine barrel had more head and lacing than the rum. A glowing orange color but cannot se through it, thick. Aroma is very fruity with grape and tangerine. Mild fruit astringency as well. Flavor has the same fruit and astringency. I can feel the alcohol after drinking but not during the drinking. It's not an in-your-face 12%. The problem with the BA version is the same as the regular, its very astringent. But I like all the fruitiness this barrel kicked off.

Draft at the Collective. All the right adjacent parts. Clear brown. Clean. No yeastiness. Mineral touch. Lite bread malts. Dry. But low smoke. Barely there. 737314
