On tap at Texas Beerfest. Pours a cloudy copper with a medium off white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a strong whiskey and oak. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt and whiskey. Hides the alcohol very well making it easy to drink. A very impressive varation of the 1836.

On tap at Texas Beerfest. Pours a dark brown with medium tan head that diminishes rather quickly. The aroma is cinnamon and brown sugar. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet roast and cinnamon with light dry finish. Easy to drink a very impressive Spice from Buffalo Bayou.

On tap at Texas Beerfest. Pours a jet black with small tan head that diminishes quickly to nothing. The aroma is pepper and coconut. Medium mouthfeel with a smokey flavor and coconut with a spicy finish. Easy to drink a very good black IPA from Buffalo Bayou.

On tap at The Hay Merchant. Pours a clear copper with a small frothy off white head leavig sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is wood and bourbon. Medium mouthfeel with a dry oak flavor with a very dry lingering finish. A decent variation of the 1836.

On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a cloudy brown with tan head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is spice and nutmeg. Thin mouthfeel with an overly spiced cinnamon and finish is synthetic tasting. Not much going on with this one.

Sampled from the tap. Pours near black with a dark head that lasted throughout the beer and laces nicely. Aroma is full of ginger and spice with dark grains and a bit of pumpernickel. Flavor starts with dark grains and chocolate and finishes full of ginger and spice. Spice has a touch heavy.
