30cl Bottle from a gift pack. Clear deep amber colour, dense yellowish white head. Aroma of light honey, candy, paper and hops. Flavour is light sour, amber malts, some honey, earth, liquorice, light sour and earthy finish. Medium bodied. Refreshing, although I don’t think the sourness was intended.

Huge yellow-cream head over hazy foxy-orange beer with a mossy shine. Sweetish nose with alcohol and even fusels; later spicy malts and grassy hops. Spicy-bitter flavours overlying sweet & thick malts. Liquorice flavour. Hops don’t push through, really. Spicy finish. slightly burning MF, bit of alcoholwarming, feels well-carbonated. Not bad. Not overy Bock-y; again certain characteristics of top-fermentation. What might INGEFILTERD mean, if I may ask?

Big, light-yellow/beige head, ove fully hazy red-amber beer. Vinous nose, cake and fruity esters. Very faraway dry hops, nearly as an afterthought. Taste is again vinous, but more overtly hoppy. Citrus-, strawberry- and other fruity flavours. CO² contributes to the flavour, despite very little visible cargonation. After some time, nearly sourish. Well-bodied, spritzy MF. Very strange beer. Everything I know about Koelschip’s purveyors, speaks of German bottomfermenting. BUt this vinous esterbomb just screams top-fermentation!?

30cl Bottle from a gift pack. Clear amber colour, dense white head. Aroma of infected beer, sour, bit of caramel. Flavour is oxidized, malty, sour, hint of caramel, cinnamon, light sour finish. Light to medium bodied. Not that bad, but I wonder how this beer would taste if it wasn’t infected, because I think that is what saved the beer. Still got one bottle left though...

2008 Vintage Huge, undulating brown-cream head over fully opaque dark redbrown beer. Sourish-vinous nose, as Oud Bruin, lactic acid, ripe red fruit. Jumble of flavours: lactic acid, sharp metallic bitterness, woodstripper, fruity esters and vinous character. Medium bodied, very discreet alcoholburn; retronasal not an explosion, but a gradual full deployment of all the inherent flavours. Let’s be candid. My first idea was: "infected", immediately followed by "but they had full mazzel with it ". Gradually, I became convinced they had attempted ànd succeeded a classical Flemish Oud Bruin. If only. If only it weren’t for that never-away metallic bitterness, as well as the caption on the label, claiming to be brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot . Flämisches Alt for crying out loud???

Bottle, 8.5%. Mild refreshing grassy hop aroma. Dark amber colour with small floaties. Small stable off-white head. The flavour is caramelly with a mild, but nice grassy hop note.

Bottle 33cl.Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, caramel, moderate hoppy, grass, citrus - orange, hop dusty. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and hop bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20090626]

30cl Bottle from a gift pack. The label says Tribel 7.5%, ABV says 8.5%. I asked the brewer for some more information and the ABV is 8.5%. Hazy copper colour, big off white head, looks good. Aroma of overripe stonefruits, caramel, sweets, a hint of sourness. Flavour is ripe stonefruits, apricot, pineapple, sugar/sweets, some sourness and light bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied. Nah...

30cl Bottle at home, as Hopfazupfabier Speciaalbier. Hazy deep amber orange colour, yellowish white head. Aroma of citrus, old hops, some caramel, a bit metallic. Flavour is sweet, malty, caramel, citrus, grapefruit, hoppy bitter finish. Dry mouthfeel, medium bodied.
