Cask @ Cross Keys, Leeds. Clear brown with a small, slightly off-white creamy head. Bitter with an underlying graininess that gives it a good edge. Not too bitter at all.

Cask @ Old Wellington, Manchester. Nicholson’s Beer Festival. Golden with a small head. Floral in nose and taste, although I don’t think the beer was in great condition in all honesty. Has a sweetness attached. Has a nice easy drinking texture.

Bottle split at Pedro leaving drinks, CBC Clerko, 24/04/15 thanks to Bropey. Rich chestnut brown with a decent beige cap that dissipates then retains. Nose is caramel, biscuit, light spice, dark fruit rinds, sweet tunes. Taste comprises brown bread, nutty tang, toffee, paper, sweet trace. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, light bitterness in the close. So so.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell during the Peter’s leaving do. Big thanks to Paul for this one. Pours unclear amber-brown with a creamy off-white head. Rich malt aroma, some figs, dates, toffee. Medium sweet flavor with lots of brown bread, toffee, leathery berries, mellow cocoa, earthy hops. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Toasty, bready malt finish, more dried fruits, toffee, berries. Quite nicely balanced overall. Tasty.

Bottle shared at Craft Clerko. It pours deep mahogany brown with a small beige head. The nose is brown bread, toasty, light caramel, wood, earth and fruit cake. The taste is smooth, malt-driven, toasty, caramel, fruit cake, light spice and with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Simple malty beer. Not bad.

Bottle from the Oddbins Beer Shop, Blackheath. Gold pour with a white head. Honey and citrus aroma and flavour, some light sweet spice and caramel notes too. Bitter-sweet linger. Not too bad.

Lightly hazy deep red - amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and smooth with modest fine carbonation. Smooth malts, mild caramel and toffee and a little cream. Mild ripe fruits underneath. Light finish. Smooth inoffensive malty beer.
