Cask @ The Grove, Huddersfield. Very deep amber-red in colour with a thin head. Strong with a winter fruit base, although the malts combine to give it a ’scotch’ sweetness.

Bottle from Bon Vivant companion. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - smoke, whisky and wood. Taste - whisky, smoke, toffee with a light wood backdrop. Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy and smoky mid section and a long dry smoky finish. The smoke dominates the beer too much. Overall - the original black cork is a stunning beer. This takes away from that.MMaybe use a non peat whisky would be better.
