Flip-top Flasche: Golden coloured, small foamy layer; sweet-malty nose with touch of herbal hops and a tinge of honey, slightly alcoholic; sweet flavour, slightly bitter, medium bodied; delicate sweet, herbal-bitter finish. Not bad, but no reason to get excited...........

Bottle. Cloudy amber-brown, fine carbonation, huge golden frothy head. Spicy banana nose, berries, freshbaked bread. Sweet fruity malt base, never sticky but with fine spicy notes. Dry sparkly and lean mouthfeel. Fruity and bready finish. Very good.

Deep mahogany beer under medium yellow-brown head, fast reduced to rim. Very heavy dark malts, dissolved in rainwater. Later mix of coffee, bread and parsley installing itself. Very evenly balance of bitterish and sweet with licorice, brandy- and other vinous flavours, caramel & molasses. Ending sweet, but pretty complex all the same. Quite well bodied, alcohol obvious, certain dry-out effect on swallowing. Some Barley wine connotations, very good Doppelbock, this!

Bottle. Apricot malt aroma - strikes me a a slightly glue-like, soapy off-note actually. Golden, low carbonation and head. Grainy, fruity apricot in the flavor as well - weird did they play with belgian yeast or too high fermentation temperature here? Dry, overattenuated. Very bizarre - please dont do this to me Faust - I seriously hope this was an off bottle! ADDENDUM: Second bottle was the same - what a shame :-(

(swing top bottle) Hazy copper colour with a big and persistent foamy beige head. Moderately sweet and slightly sour-fruity aroma of dark and wheat-malt with cloves and notes of caramel. Soft malty, slightly toasty and yeasty taste with shy fruity notes and clovy phenols, light to medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel; a bit slim spicy and fruity finish. Decent Dunkelweizen.

(swing top bottle) Hazy orange-golden colour with a big and firm white foamy head. Sweet and slightly sour wheaty and fruity (banana, citrus) aroma, yeasty with notes of cloves. Sweet flavour, light to medium body, smoothly carbonated for a Weizen, almost creamy mouthfeel. Banana-fruity and slightly grainy wheat-malty taste, sweet and minimal sourish citrus-fruity finish with subdued clovy notes. Nice one, pleasant to drink.

(swing top bottle) Clear, golden colour with a fluffy but rather unstable foamy white head. Slightly dusty and sweet grainy malt aroma with honey. Medium sweet flavour, grainy taste with a honey-fruity touch; medium to light bodied, well-carbonated mouthfeel; slightly bitter and malty, light hoppy finish with a light and rather unpleasant tart note in the aftertaste. Still decent but nothing special.
