Handpull cask at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Dark gold, mostly clear with a thin film of white head. Sweet aroma, candied orange peel, grassy and floral notes and thick honey. Taste is bittersweet, lots of malt, very vegetal. Watercress. Not sure about this. Medium to thick body and flat flat flat. It's just about passable.

Half-pint, shared with Finn. Bubbly surface, spotty lacing, coal black body. Inviting on the nose with dark malts and berry skins. Blended taste of almond, chocolate malts and dark berries. Smoothly roasted end. Pleasing. (Liverpool, 13.02.2025).

Cask at the Pup & Duckling 9th Birthday beer festival, Solihull. Poured almost black in colour with a lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt, earthy. The flavour is strong liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, boozy liquorice bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers! Aroma of fruit malt loaf, dried fruits, toffee and maybe a bit nutty. Followed through nicely with the dried fruit and the malts. Decent body to it. Enjoyed it.
