Cask at the Pup & Duckling 9th Birthday beer festival, Solihull. Poured almost black in colour with a lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt, earthy. The flavour is strong liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, boozy liquorice bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers! Aroma of fruit malt loaf, dried fruits, toffee and maybe a bit nutty. Followed through nicely with the dried fruit and the malts. Decent body to it. Enjoyed it.

Handpull cask at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Mid- to dark brown with a thin khaki head. Lively little coffee aroma, maybe a little bit stale, some filter paper. Making some coffee that's a little past its best but still good? That sort of thing. Taste is weird, lots of coffee, some herbal note akin to watercress. Light oily body, soft carbonation. It's okay but I am not overly enamoured.
