Bottle at RBWG Asheville Grand Tasting. Pours black-brown with a foamy beige head. The nose has burnt wood, whiskey, dark fruits, mild chocolate. Medium sweet flavor, boozy, some dry chocolate. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Modest warmth to finish, some baking cocoa, light warmth. Pretty decent balance. Nice beer.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with brown head. Nose and taste of flaked oats, creamy milk chocolate, roast coffee and touch of milk sugar, black licorice and vanilla. Light smoke in the finish. Creamy palate. Medium body. Easy drinking as the description says.

On tap on 2/27/2011 as COAST Cascade Rye. Clear pale amber body with a small creamy off white head. Sweet caramel fruit and faint rye aroma. Sweet rye flavor with some caramel and floral and resiny hops. Medium body with moderate carbonation.
