Description
COAST Brewing Company is a family owned craft brewery, on an old Navy base. We make beer we like to drink, simple and done well. We believe in choice organic and local ingredients. But it's not just about being organic, it's a certain mind set of considering the environment in everything we do. In fact, we're not certified organic and have no plans to be-we do it because we believe it's the right thing. All of our ingredients are listed including which are organic. Growler at Maltzilla’s tasting. Pours hazy dark golden color with off white head. Citrus and grapefruit aroma. Bitter grapefruit rind flavor with very little maltiness. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Aroma of grainy malts and a grassy finish. The taste is pale grainy malts, a sweet malty note and a grassy finish. Medium bodied. Fairly bitter. Nicely balanced. World class kolsch.

22 ounce bottle shared by Nate at the 14th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 3/19/11. I don’t care what anyone from Georgia or anyone else says, Jack ain’t bourbon. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of whisky, vanilla, caramel, roasted malts, nutty notes. The taste is roasted malts, nutty notes, wood, vanilla, vegetal notes, leafy and peppery hops notes, and a bit of raisin. Full bodied.

Thanks to markwise for this one. It pours brownish copper with off white head. The aroma is sweet malty roasty malts, thin fig notes, a light amount of oak and vanilla. The taste has a nice mix of smooth fruitiness like figs and prunes as well as drying malt roastiness. Into the finish some earthiness joins in and hangs around well into the after taste.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted dark malty and caramelish. Flat malty, earthy and dry malty. Bitter and slight spiced. Ends dry and bitter. Toffee caramelish and vague liqourice into the far finish.
