Arends Nest. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, good fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, very light cream and smoke. Mild tangy fruits. Airy dry finish. Not bad but lacks the character of the Creme Brulee.

Arends Nest. Keg. Opaque black - brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy with a fine minerally crispness. Mellow dark malts, a little cream that does indeed develop a mild creme bruless caramel - vanilla vibe. Trace of roast malt bitterness and a little dark chocolate. Airy semi dry finish. Comes together well.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 30 Aug 2015) Golden colour with dense, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of white bread, cereal, peaches and a touch of elderflower. Malty, floral nose with grain, bread, herbs, hints of elderflower, grass and a balanced floral bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and quite interesting, with a fresh elderflower character. Quite nice.

0.33 l bottle from De Bierkoning, best before April 2017 (bottled in March 2015?). Clear, very dark red with a huge, creamy, almost stable, brown head. Sweetish, malty aroma of dark chocolate, toffee, cocoa powder and raisins. Sweetish, malty taste of dark chocolate, cocoa powder, mocha, toffee, nuts and raisins, followed by a short, slightly bitter finish. Medium body, creamy and smooth mouthfeel, average carbonation. Delicious, close to drinking liquid chocolate while the light fruity note adds some depth.

330 ml. bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub. Ruby red dark brown with uneven mocha bubbles. Nose is overly metallic, lightly herbal, there is light basic smoke, mainly sugary, metallic & lightly herbal, not getting pecans. Taste is weak sugar, tad thin, almost couch watery, lightly herbal, touch water,… Body is a bit watery. Sadly didn’t get any pecans in the taste either. Below expectations, lack of pecans was disappointing. Passable still in general.
